The United States Women’s Soccer team successfully defended their World Cup title following a 2-0 victory Sunday over the Netherlands. It was their fourth World Cup win. Megan Rapinoe was named the tournament’s best player and awarded the golden ball. She had one of the United States’ two goals in the deciding game. She had six goals in the tournament, and became the oldest player to score in a goal in the Women’s World Cup final.
