If you’re planning on viewing the total solar eclipse on Monday, you’ll need special glasses.
Some local optometrists are selling “eclipse glasses,” which are glasses with certified solar filters that block out dangerous rays. Check with your local doctor.
Butler toy store Playthings Etc. was selling them- but store owners said Tuesday they are completely sold out.
There are fake solar eclipse glasses being sold, so be aware.
Even though we’ll only experience a partial eclipse in western Pennsylvania- the moon will block out about 80 percent of the sun- it’s still too dangerous to look at with the human eye.
