A pair of dogs died in a fire at a home in Franklin Township yesterday morning.
The first call came into the Butler County 911 Center just after 9 a.m. for smoke coming out of a house on Grindel Road—which is about a two miles away from Main Street in Prospect.
When crews arrived, they found smoke was coming from one side of the home. Everyone inside the home was able to safely escape, but homeowners told firefighters that two dogs were on the first floor of the house.
Firefighters say both dogs unfortunately died due to smoke inhalation.
No word on what caused the fire or but the damage was not considered to be extensive.
