The names of the two children who died as a result of a house fire in Armstrong County have been released.
According to our news partners at WPXI-TV, 13-year-old Emilee Hooten and her 10-year-old brother Darren died during the fire in East Franklin Township that happened on the 100 block of Pleasant View Drive shortly before 10:30 a.m. Thursday. Police say the children were trapped on the second floor.
The children’s mother was flown to Mercy Hospital after she jumped from a window with her four-year-old child in her arms as she tried to save them.
She was reportedly in critical condition.
The cause of that fire and extent of damage are unknown at this time.
