Two people are facing charges after they tried to flee police over the weekend.
The incident happened around 1:30 a.m. Sunday on Route 8 North, near the intersection with Vogel Road.
State police say they pulled over a vehicle driven by 36-year-old Lamar Bailey of Youngstown and 28-year-old Kelsey Meyers of Butler in a Sheetz gas station parking lot.
A trooper went over to the vehicle, but that’s when they tried to flee onto Route 8. Police say the trooper then got “pulled into the vehicle.” Eventually police were able to disable the car after about 200 feet.
After taking Bailey and Meyers into custody, their vehicle rolled backwards and hit the trooper’s vehicle.
Police say one of the suspects also tried to spit out the window, but missed.
The suspects were also found to be under the influence of a controlled substance.
