Motorists planning to use the Pennsylvania Turnpike this week should be aware of a road work project beginning tomorrow.
The turnpike will have lane restrictions in place at the Allegheny Valley (Exit 48) interchange between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. Monday through Friday. Workers will be resurfacing the ramps at the interchange as well as replacing guiderail, and repairing the inlet and shoulder of the road.
Single lane patterns will also be in effect north and southbound on Freeport Road near the interchange in Harmar Township, Allegheny County. PennDOT reminds drivers to expect slow-moving traffic and likely delays for this overnight paving project.
This project is expected to be completed sometime this fall.
