Defending Nascar Cup Series champion Martin Truex, Jr. won the first road course race Sunday in Sonoma, California. Truex, Jr. crossed the finish line more than 10-seconds in front of runner-up Kevin Harvick. It was his third victory of the season. Clint Bowyer was third, followed by Chase Elliott and Kyle Busch.
Josef Newgarden won the IndyCar race in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin Sunday.
Blake Alexander won his first Top Fuel race in the NHRA Sunday with a victory in the Summit Racing Equipment Nationals in Norwalk, Ohio. Alexander defeated Terry McMillan in the final. Matt Hagen defeated Courtney Force in the Funny Car for his first win this season.
Sprint car driver Jason Johnson was killed Saturday night in an accident during the World of Outlaws race in Wisconsin. He was 41.
