Pennsylvania State Police troopers arrested 330 people statewide for driving under the influence during the four-day Christmas holiday that ran from Dec. 22-25.
That total represents an increase from the 243 DUI arrests made during the 2017 Christmas holiday driving period, which spanned three days.
Butler’s Troop D barracks arrested 34 people for DUIs during that same time period, tying with another barracks for the second highest number of DUI arrests in the state.
Troop D also arrested 46 people for speeding and fpur for not wearing seatbelts. Officers gave out 777 other citations.
State police investigated 622 crashes over the long holiday weekend, including 54 collisions involving alcohol. Six people were killed in five fatal crashes investigated by PSP.
There were 26 crashes during the four-day holiday period in Butler, including one fatal crash that killed two people. Three of those crashes were involving alcohol, according to state police.
This data only includes accidents that were investigated by state police.
