A large and old tree in Butler will soon be cut down.
The Redevelopment Authority of the City of Butler made the decision to cut down the tree near the entrance to Kelly Automotive Park after being informed that dead branches have been dropping off.
Closer inspection of the tree revealed it is mostly dead and could be a danger and a liability if not taken down.
The work will be taken care of in-house by the authority’s maintenance staff and a subcontractor.
