The Butler Transit Authority is adding more local service runs to meet demand.
According to Executive Director John Paul, buses running Route 1 on Saturdays have been too full.
As a result, the authority is planning to add four additional service runs on Saturdays using Route 5 which follows the same stops as Route 1 in reverse. Those runs will take place between 8:15 a.m. and 12:15 p.m.
This addition will go into effect June 3rd and continue for a seven month trial period until the end of the year at which time the authority will evaluate the need for the continued service.
This change has already been approved by the Authority’s subcontractor MV Transportation.
