The Butler Transit Authority has finalized another agreement with a park and ride location for their commuter service to Pittsburgh.
At their monthly meeting Tuesday night, the authority Board of Directors approved a deal with Glade Run United Presbyterian Church off Route 8 in Middlesex Township.
For $6,000 annually, the authority will be able to allow commuters that use their service to use 16 parking spots. Authority administrators believe that a grant from PennDOT could eventually be used to cover the costs of this agreement.
The Transit Authority began compressed natural gas bus service from Butler to Pittsburgh last month and they continue to pursue arrangements to allow for park and ride stations in Forward and Cranberry Townships as well as Evans City.
