Columbus Blue Jackets goaltender Matiss Kivlenieks was killed after a tragic Fourth of July accident involving fireworks. The 24-year old native of Latvia was attending a party in a Detroit suburb. Authorities say the death was caused by an errant fireworks mortar blast. He was in a hot tub with a group of people who were trying to flee, and was hit in the chest.
