Organizers say the Toys For Tots program in Butler County could be coming to an end unless a local resident or business steps up in a big way.
Toys For Tots Chairman Dennis Johnston says the organization needs a space to call their own. In the past, they have had space donated to them to use or they have used donations to temporarily rent a building…but they have not been successful in securing a place to this year.
“It would really be a shame if we could not do the program this year,” Johnston said.
The Bantam Marine Detachment #743 of the Pennsylvania Department of the Marine Corps League runs the program. If you can help them find a 6,000-square foot space for use between September and January (or ideally for the entire year), you’re asked to contact Toys For Tots at 724-841-0431.
The program provides Christmas gifts to nearly 3,000 local children each year.
