The top male and female of the 2019 Butler School District graduating class will both receive scholarships through the Pittsburgh Foundation.
Sophia Lex and Nathan Ellis will each receive $6,800 through the 2019 Rosanne Cavalero and Jane Cavalero Scholarships.
The scholarships are distributed through the Wellington C. Carl Fund of the Pittsburgh Foundation. The funds provide scholarships- in equal shares- to the male and female graduates from Butler High with the highest cumulative grade point average and who pursue secondary education.
Lex will study civil and environmental engineering at the University of Pittsburgh. Ellis plans to major in business at the University of Alabama.
