Knoch started out hot against Blackhawk with a 13-0 lead in the first quarter. Knoch missed the extra point on their second touchdown. Blackhawk came right back to score a touchdown, the first quarter finished 13-7 Knoch. Blackhawk started the scoring in the second quarter with a touchdown and took the lead on their converted extra point 14-13. Knochs’ defense later in the quarter scored a safety, Knoch retook the lead 15-14. Knoch and Blackhawk each scored another touchdown before halftime although Knoch missed their second straight extra point and Blackhawk made their extra point. At the half the score was tied at 21.
In the second half all was quiet until about three minutes left in the game where Blackhawk missed a field goal try. Knochs’ offense was quiet all second half. Blackhawk had one last chance in the final minute, they moved the ball deep into Knoch territory and attempted a game winning field goal try on the final play of regulation. Blackhawk just missed the field goal sending the game into overtime. In overtime Knoch started with the ball first and scored a touchdown but had their extra point blocked. This was Knoch’s third missed extra point in the game. Blackhawk in their first series in overtime scored a touchdown and made the extra point winning the football game 28-27. Blackhawk goes to 1-0 while Knoch starts the season 0-1.
