Three people, including one from Butler, were killed when their boat overturned on the Allegheny River in Clarion County around 1:00 a.m. Saturday morning.
According to ExploreClarion.com, Timothy Jones, 62, of Tarentum, Joe Wrbas, 48, of Butler and Chad Wilson, 34, of Prospect were trapped underneath the boat for six hours before they died. A fourth person, whose name has not been released, survived the crash. The condition of the survivor is unknown at this time.
The cause of the crash is also unknown at this time. The boat was found in an area near East Brady that is well known for camping and boating and is directly under tails maintained by the Armstrong Rails To Trails Association.
The Clarion County Coroner will conduct the autopsies on Monday.
