Today is national “Letter of Intent” day – for prospective college football recruits to sign on with the college of their choice. Slippery Rock University, the reigning PSAC Champions will see 28 new recruits added to their roster for the spring. Many of the players headed to the Rock are all-state, all-conference or have played on championship-caliber teams.
Tim Vernick of Butler high school will be joining his older brother Bob at the Rock. A two-way player at Butler, Tim will join his brother among the linebacking corps at The Rock, now under the direction of first-year head coach Shawn Lutz.
Freeport high school’s Logan Thimons will be heading to West Virginia to continue his football career as a Mountaineer.
