The Slippery Rock University football team dropped 10 spots but remained in the top 20 in the national rankings at number 19 in the latest NCAA Division II national poll released Monday by the American Football Coaches Association. The Rock has remained ranked in the last 21 consecutive releases of the poll, dating back to week 10 of the 2014 season.
Slippery Rock lost to California Saturday. With the win the Vulcans moved from #24 to #15 this week.
There was a significant shakeup in the national poll this week after nine teams in the top 25 were beaten last week. In addition to the nine that lost, eight others barely escaped with one-possession wins, marking one of the wildest regular season weeks in recent memory.
Last night in Monday Night Football: Minnesota improved to 4-0 with a 24-10 victory over the New York Giants.
