Following the Slippery Rock University football team’s 56-21 victory over California Saturday, The Rock has climbed back into the national top-25 of the American Football Coaches Association poll this week at number 20. The Rock had been as high as 14th this season, but fell out of the top-25 following their three point loss to Seton Hill in week four. The Rock remains the second highest ranked Super Region One team behind number-9 ranked Shepherd as the only teams in the top-25.
The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference has two other teams receiving votes this week, and both are fromt the Western Division and still on The Rock’s schedule. Clarion and IUP both have received votes for the first time this season, but remain outside the top-25. The Rock will visit Mercyhurts this Saturday, then Host IUP next Saturday night, October 24th. Clarion will visit Slippery Rock November 7th.
