Local kids will have a chance to get started on summer reading with an annual initiative from the Butler Area School District this week.
The BookStop will make its first runs through the community on Wednesday to allow kids to pick out a free, gently-used book.
Three routes will be running in order to reach as many kids as possible.
Blue Route:
St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church · 10:30 – 10:55 a.m.
Greenview Gardens Apartments · 11: 00 – 11: 25 a.m.
South Hills Playground · 11:30 – 11:55 a.m.
Old Plank Estates · 12:00 – 12: 30 p.m.
Green Route:
Institute Hill Playground ·10:30 – 10:55 a.m.
Father Marinaro Park · 11:00 – 11:25 a.m.
Rotary Park (Island Playground) · 11:30 – 11:55 a.m.
Emily Brittian Elementary School · 12:00 – 12:30 p.m.
Red Route:
Connoquenessing Elementary School · 10:30 – 10:55 a.m.
Alameda Park · 11:25 – 11:55 a.m.
Butler Memorial Park · 12:00 – 12:25 p.m.
Center Township Elementary School · 12:30 – 1:00 p.m.
Kids are welcome to bring a book to trade or just pick one out for themselves. Book donations are still being accepted but are not required to be able to participate.
