An 18-year-old was killed while driving off-road at a Mercer County dump site.
State Police say Hunter Strang of Pittsburgh was driving a 2017 Jeep Wrangler on Saturday afternoon in a field and dump site off Williamson Road in Jackson Township (owned by Lake Latonka) when his Jeep got too close to a steep grade on a hill.
“Strang climbed to the top of an incline from the south. Upon reaching the top of the hill, Strang got too close to a steep grade on the north side of the hill, which was obscured by the darkness and tall grass,” according to a press release on the incident provided by State Police in Mercer County.
Strang was thrown from the Jeep as it began to roll over. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Five other teenagers were reportedly also inside the vehicle and were all injured.
