A Philadelphia teenager is facing assault charges after she allegedly bit a staff member at a northern Butler County juvenile detention facility.
Valerie Santos, 18, is accused of biting the knee and spitting on the staffer, as well as making threatening remarks, during an altercation earlier this month at Western PA Child Care on Route 38 in Allegheny Township, according to court documents filed by state police.
The victim was not seriously injured but did sustain bruising.
Even though Santos is an adult, she is still being held in the facility for a crime she committed as a juvenile. She can be held up to 21 years old and could now face additional time as a result of this incident.
