The Pittsburgh Penguins lost to the Tampa Bay Lightning 4-3 in overtime last night at the Consol Energy Center. It was the first time the Pens have lost two games in a row since mid-January. The Penguins blew an early two-goal lead, allowing the Lightning to score twice within 70 seconds in the second period. The Pens retook the lead in the third period but allowed a Tampa Bay goal with three minutes remaining in the game that forced the overtime. The Lightning scored 53 seconds into the overtime. Marc-Andre Fleury started his first game of the post-season and took the loss.
Tampa Bay leads the series 3-2 heading into game six Tuesday in Florida. Face-off will be 8pm.
The Penguins lost defenseman Trevor Dailey for the rest of the season. Dailey suffered a broken ankle in game four on Friday. Meanwhile, winger Beau Bennett returned from an injury last night, playing for the first time in the playoffs.
