The Pittsburgh Pirates defeated the Cincinnati Reds 5-0 Sunday at PNC Park. Jameson Taillon tossed a one-hit, complete game shut-out, the first of his career. The only hit he allowed was to the Reds starting pitcher. Gregory Polanco and Corey Dickerson homered for the Pirates. Polanco currently leads the major league’s with 13 RBI’s.
The Bucs completed a 4-2 season-opening homestand and lead the National League Central with a 7-2 record heading into a three-game series with the Chicago Cubs beginning this afternoon at 2:20pm. Hear the game on WISR 680am beginning at 2pm.
The Pirates have placed left-handed reliever Kevin Siegrist on the suspended list after he refused to report to Triple-A Indianapolis. Siegrist did not make the major league roster out of spring training.
