Jameson Taillon made the second start of his career last night in New York and held the Mets hitless for the first six innings, leading the Bucs to a 4-0 victory. Starling Marte and Jung Ho Kang hit home runs in the game, while Taillon allowed just two hits over eight innings. Kang is now tied with Gregory Polanco and Andrew McCutchen for the team lead in home runs with nine each.
The Bucs visit the Mets again tonight at 7:10pm. Pre-game on WISR 680am is 6:45pm. Jeff Locke will start for the Pirates tonight.
Gerrit Cole was placed on the 15-day disabled lst Tuesday because of a strained right triceps muscle. Taillon was recalled from Triple-A Indianapolis to replace Cole.
