The man accused of killing 11 people when he opened fire inside a Pittsburgh synagogue last month remains in the Butler County Prison.
Robert Bowers, 46, was transferred to Butler in the days following the October shooting. During a meeting of the Butler County Prison Board on Tuesday- which was the first meeting of the board since Bowers’ transfer- Warden Joe DeMore said there have been no issues surrounding Bowers.
He said he has not been updated on how long Bowers will remain in Butler and referred all questions to the U.S. Marshals Service. DeMore said the county is receiving the same compensation to house Bowers as they do with any other federal inmate. There were 40 federal inmates being housed at the Butler County Prison as of Nov. 20.
