A local school district is teaming up with several municipalities to teach kids about water safety.
Students in Seneca Valley elementary schools will participate in a series of trips to pools beginning with Evans City Elementary traveling to the EDCO Community Pool from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday.
The lifeguard staff of the pools, along with the physical education department and the SV Swim Club will help with the instruction. The dry land water safety lessons will include safety around water, how to get help in a water safety emergency and weather safety around water.
On Wednesday, Connoquenessing Valley Elementary will go to the Zelienople Community Pool, Thursday Haine Elementary will go to the Cranberry Township North Boundary Water Park, and Friday Rowan Elementary will also travel to the Cranberry Township North Boundary Water Park.
