A local school district is teaming up with several municipalities to teach kids about water safety.
Students in Seneca Valley elementary schools will participate in a series of trips to local pools beginning with Evans City Elementary students traveling to the EDCO Community Pool from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday.
The lifeguard staff of the pools, along with the physical education department and the SV Swim Club, will help with the instruction. The dry land water safety lessons will include safety around water, how to get help in a water safety emergency and weather safety around water.
On Wednesday, Connoquenessing Valley Elementary students will go to the Zelienople Community Pool and Rowan Elementary students will travel to the Cranberry Township North Boundary Water Park. Finally, on Thursday, Haine Elementary students will also go to the Cranberry Township North Boundary Water Park.
