A student in the Seneca Valley School District wanted to help local families in need—and her fellow students came through big time.
District officials say the idea was created by Lilia Maschmeir, an 8th grader from Ryan Gloyer Middle School for her class project.
The district-wide drive brought in over 7,000 non-perishable food items.
The donations were sent to the Help Your Neighbor food pantry at the Victory Family Church in Cranberry Township.
