An Armstrong County man is facing multiple charges after seriously injuring a woman Tuesday morning in Summit Township.
According to a criminal complaint filed by state police, 29-year-old Dean Law of Apollo entered the Bonniebrook Road home of a woman identified as his ex-fiancé sometime before 7 a.m.
Law is accused of striking the woman in the head with a hatchet as she was lying in bed. Law reportedly returned to the woman’s home while police were there and was taken into custody. The woman was transported to the hospital and her condition is unknown at this time.
During an interview, Law allegedly told police he was dreaming and just woke up with no idea about what had happened. Later Law admitted he was “just playing” around when he provided false information before saying he wanted to “plead the 5th”.
Law is currently in the Butler County Prison charged with felony attempted homicide, burglary, aggravated assault, and criminal trespass.
