A student escaped from Butler County’s Summit Academy Tuesday morning, but has since been apprehended.
About 11 a.m., an alert was sent to nearby residents of the school saying the white male had escaped from campus. The alert did not describe the student as dangerous, but urged residents to lock their doors and vehicles.
By 11:30 a.m., another alert was sent saying the student had been apprehended. No further details were released.
Summit Academy is a private, residential program for boys and young men ages 14 to 19 who have committed juvenile and adult criminal offenses. Last year, a warning system was put in place to notify residents when a student escapes.
