It’s summer time, so there should be no surprise to drivers that several roads are closed for repairs and others are restricted for street-cleaning.
The City of Butler’s street-cleaning program began Tuesday and started in the Institute Hill section of town. Affected streets include:
-North Monroe St.
-Linden St.
-Cross St.
-St. Mary St.
-Cecelia St.
-Spruce St.
-Carbon St.
The streets to be cleaned on Wednesday include:
-Elm St.
-Franklin St.
-North McKean St.
-Second St.
-Third St.
-Fourth St.
-Fifth St.
Streets that are scheduled to be cleaned will be posted with ‘No Parking’ signs the afternoon before. The closures last from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. The fine for parking on a posted street is $20.

Crews will be working on repairing a traffic signal in Butler Township on Tuesday.
The signal on Route 8 at Evans Road will be shut off until approximately 11:30 a.m. for repairs. Police will be directing traffic at the intersection.

Butler Township will begin their road paving project this week. Roads will be closed during milling and paving operations and signs will be posted in advance where on-street parking is prohibited. Citations will be issued for violations.
