If you’re a college student waiting on a grant from the Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency, you’re out of luck until state officials can pass a budget.
Nearly $420 million is earmarked for states grants this year for over 150,000 state college students. But, the PHEAA can’t distribute the funds until the General Assembly and Gov. Tom Wolf agree on a budget.
Some schools may decide to credit students’ accounts for what they should receive from the agency and cover the costs until they can be reimbursed.
