Some students are spending the day outdoors helping improve a local creek.
Students from Butler Intermediate High School are participating in ‘Trout in the Classroom’ day at the Thorn Creek Habitat Improvement site.
The kids are working with employees of XTO Energy, reps from the state Fish & Boat Commission and members of the Butler County Conservation District to do things including water testing, a trout release, tree planting and litter clean up.
The Thorn Creek improvement site is on Winters Road in Butler.
