Many Slippery Rock University students will take advantage of an opportunity beginning Wednesday to get ahead and stay ahead.
Nearly 150 classes will be offered as part of SRU’s Winter Session, which continues through January 6th.
About 1,800 students are expected to participate in an effort to stay on pace to graduate, or outpace the standard four-year time period.
SRU has also decided to increase the pay of many student employees. Beginning January 3rd, all non-contract undergraduate students who were making less than $8.50 per hour will get a raise to that amount. A new tiered system will be rolled out in March to pay students up to $11 per hour for work that requires more advanced skills or responsibilities.
