Green Party presidential candidate Jill Stein has launched a three-state effort to recount the votes from the November 8th election.
Stein is seeking recounts in Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania.
Here in Pennsylvania, attorneys for Stein say they will start by filing petitions in specific precincts. If discrepancies are found, a formal contest of the election would be called for.
“If there is a discrepancy, then this becomes much more problematic,” Attorney Lawrence Otter said.
Otter says one area of focus for a recount is in Bucks County in eastern PA, where the results differed from other counties around Philadelphia.
Election officials, including here in Butler County, say Pennsylvania’s voting machines are not connected to the internet, making it extremely difficult for hacking.
Hillary Clinton’s campaign says it’s found no actionable evidence, but will participate in the recount.
