Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin announced Tuesday that Devlin Hodges will get the start at quarterback this Sunday when the Steelers host the Cleveland Browns at Heinz Field. It is a critical match-up for both teams. The Steelers are currently 6-5 and in the final AFC Wild Card position. The Browns are 5-6 and are two point favorites in this weekend’s game.
Mason Rudolph has thrown five interceptions over the past two games, and will back-up Hodges, who led the Steelers to a 16-10 victory last week in Cincinnati. It will be Hodges second career start.
Three former Steelers have been named semi-finalists for the Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2020. Offensive lineman Alan Faneca makes the list for the fifth time, and is joined by 2010 NFL defensive player of the year Troy Polamalu and wide receiver Hines Ward. It is the first year of eligibility for Polamalu, and the fourth for Ward, who is the Steelers all-time leading receiver.
