The Pittsburgh Steelers were hammered at home by the Carolina Panthers 23-6 last night at Heinz Field. The Steelers did not use a single starter on offense, and only two starters on defense. They allowed the Panthers 454 total yards, one week after allowing Buffalo more than 500 yards of offense. Josh Scobee provided the only scoring for the Steelers with two second half field goals.
The Steelers closed their pre-season 1-4. They will cut their roster to the mandatory 53 Saturday, and prepare for their regular season opener at New England next Thursday. Patriots quarterback Tom Brady will play after having his four-game suspension by the NFL overrulled by a federal judge.
