The Pittsburgh Steelers defeated the Cincinnati Bengals 27-3 last night in their Monday Night Football match-up at Heinz Field. The Steelers defense sacked Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton six times. Cincinnati’s offense was held to 175 yards and had two turnovers. Steelers quarterback Mason Rudolph completed 24 of his 28 pass attempts for 229 yards and two scores. Running back Jaylen Samuels completed three shuffle passes for 31 yards out of the “wild cat” formation as the Steelers tried a variety of ways to get their running game going.
Samuels had 10 rushes for 26 yards. James Conner carried the ball 10 times for 42 yards. Conner and Samuels led the Steelers with eight catches each. Kicker Chris Boswell hit two field goals from 29 and 49 yards.
With the victory, the Steelers improved to 1-3. They trail the Baltimore Ravens and Cleveland Browns by one game in the AFC North. The Steelers will host Baltimore Sunday at 1pm.
Prior to the game last night, the Steelers inducted four men into their Hall of Honor. They included former head coach Bill Cowher, four-time Super Bowl winning lineman Larry Brown, three time Pro Bowler Elbie Nickel and former Super Bowl MVP receiver Hines Ward.
