The Pittsburgh Steelers fell 28-21 to the New England Patriots to open their season Thursday night. Patriots quarterback Tom Brady threw four touchdown passes. Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger threw for 351 yards. Running back DeAngelo Williams rushed for 127 yards in his debut as a Steeler. He is replacing the suspended Le’Veon Bell. Wide receiver Antonio Brown picked up where he left off last season with nine catches for 133 yards and a touchdown. The Steelers will host San Francisco next weekend, but for now have 11 days off.
Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin commented on a head-set issue during the opening quarter during his post-game news conference last night. Tomlin said the Steelers head coaches were hearing the New England radio broadcast in the head sets and had trouble communicating.
