The Pittsburgh Steelers drafted Terrell Edmunds of Virginia Tech in the NFL Draft opening round last night. He was a third-team All-ACC Conference selection last season. The Steelers selection was presented by linebacker Ryan Shazier who walked to the podium in Arlington to make the announcement. Edmunds older brother Tremaine was selected in the first round last night by Buffalo. Their father Ferrell was Pro Bowl tight end in the NFL.
The Steelers also traded wide receiver Martavis Bryant to the Oakland Raiders during the draft, and received the 79th selection in the draft, which continues tonight. The Steelers will now have three picks tonight, with selections 60, 79 and 92.
Penn State running back Saquon Barkley was selected second overall last night by the New York Giants. Quarterback Baker Mayfield was the first overall selection by Cleveland. The second and third rounds begin tonight at 7pm.
