For the third time this season, a Pittsburgh Steeler has been named the AFC Defensive Player of the Week. Lineman Cam Heyward earned the honor for his inspired play against the Las Vegas Raiders. He had seven tackles, three for a loss, two sacks and a batted ball. Safety Minkah Fitzpatrick and linebacker Alex Highsmith earned earlier honors this year.
The Steelers visit the Baltimore Ravens Sunday night. It will be the 10th time that Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin and Ravens head coach John Harbaugh will meet in a Sunday Prime Time game. The Steelers are 2-1/2 point underdogs.
Thursday Night Football:
–The Tennessee Titans will host the Dallas Cowboys for an 8:15pm kick-off. The Cowboys are 11-4 and have already clinched a playoff spot. The Titans are tied with Jacksonville for the AFC South lead at 7-8.
The Las Vegas Raiders had decided to bench quarterback Derek Carr for their final two games of the season and will start Jarrett Stidham. Carr has left the team for the remainder of the year.
The Washington Commanders are switching to quarterback Carson Wentz over Taylor Heinicke for their game Sunday against the Cleveland Browns.
