The Pittsburgh Steelers and Detroit Lions battled to a 16-16 tie in overtime Sunday at Heinz Field. The deadlock prevented the Steelers from tying the Baltimore Ravens for first place in the AFC North.
Without starting quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, the Steelers managed just an opening drive touchdown under back-up Mason Rudolph. Two fumbles in overtime helped keep the Steelers from potential game-winning scores.
Roethlisberger was placed on the COVID list Saturday. Rudolph was 30-of-50 for 245 yards and one interception. Najee Harris carried the ball 26 times for the Steelers for 105 yards. The Steelers defense was gouged for 230 yards rushing by the winless Lions. Chris Boswell kicked three field goals.
The Steelers lost linebacker T.J. Watt to an injury during the game, cornerback Joe Haden, as well as offensive linemen Trea Turner and Kevin Dotson. The Steelers visit the Los Angeles Chargers next Sunday night.
