The Pittsburgh Steelers acquired wide receiver and punt returner Ryan Switzer from the Oakland Raiders Monday for a fifth-round draft pick in 2019. The Steelers also received a sixth-round draft pick for next year. The Raiders had acquired Switzer from Dallas back in April.
Switzer averaged more than 20 yards per punt return over four seasons North Carolina. Pitt fans will remember he had an ACC record-tying 16 catches for 208 yards in a Tar Heels 37-36 victory at Heinz Field in 2016. He also returned two punts for touchdowns against the Panthers in 2013.
The Steelers play their final preseason game Thursday when they host Carolina at Heinz Field. Kick-off is 7:30pm. Pre-game on WISR is 5:30pm.
Offensive lineman Ramon Foster returned to practice Monday, and expects to be ready for the season-opener in Cleveland. Foster suffered a hyperextended knee and bone bruise during the first week of practice.
