The Steelers are worth $2.25 billion, up 18 percent from last year, according to Forbes’ annual ranking of the most valuable sports franchises.
That put the Steelers 28th on the list of the top 51, just behind the Baltimore Ravens ($2.3 billion).
The Dallas Cowboys top the list for the second consecutive year with a worth of $4.2 billion. Of the NFL’s 32 teams only the Buffalo Bills, Cincinnati Bengals and Detroit Lions didn’t make the list.
The rankings are based on Forbes’ valuations done over the past year for all NFL, NHL, NBA, MLB, soccer, NASCAR and Formula One teams. There were no NHL, Formula 1 or NASCAR teams on the list.
