The man facing trial in the Tree of Life Synagogue mass shooting chose not to appear before a judge Tuesday as federal prosecutors and public defenders were in court for a state conference on the case.
Suspect Robert Bowers waived his right to be there as the judge and the lawyers laid out a map of what’s ahead before Bowers stands trial.
On Tuesday, the judge approved a 120-day extension for pre-trial motions and discovery in the case. There will be monthly status conferences in February, March and April. A date for when trial will begin has not yet been set.
Bowers is charged with killing 11 people and wounding six others. He continues to be held in the Butler County Prison.
