Those in the child care industry say that there’s an ongoing struggle to fill open positions.
Steve Doster is a partner with PreK for PA and he says a recent survey among child care facilities found that there are nearly 7,000 positions that haven’t been filled.
“Wages and the competitive nature of the workforce today is really driving a lot of those vacancies, and it’s a snowballing effect,” Doster said.
Doster says that child care is important as ever, especially with many parents relying on it in order to go to work.
