Governor Tom Wolf is expected to sign an executive order Monday ensuring a minimum wage of $10.15 an hour for all employees under his jurisdictions and state government contractors.
Currently, Pennsylvania’s minimum wage is $7.25, which is the federal minimum.
The Republican-controlled state Legislature has shown no indication to raise the minimum wage, despite it being on the lower end in the nation. Twenty nine states and Washington, D.C. have raised their minimums above the federal minimum. Those states include every single neighbor of Pennsylvania.
