A local state lawmaker has been accused of driving under the influence following an incident over the weekend in neighboring Mercer County.
State Police say 51-year-old Tedd Nesbit was pulled over around 9 p.m. Saturday on Interstate 79 in Findley Township after he was observed committing “traffic violations.” Officers then determined he was allegedly driving under the influence. Police say charges will be filed once lab results come back.
State Rep. Nesbit released a statement Monday saying, “I made a mistake for which I am embarrassed and deeply sorry. It will not happen again. I intend to work hard to regain the trust of my constituents.”
Nesbit represents residents in both Butler and Mercer counties in Pennsylvania’s 8th Legislative District.
