A number of state residents have been deployed to North Carolina to help with relief efforts after the damage from Hurricane Helene.
Governor Josh Shapiro says that Pennsylvania Task Force 1 is on the ground in North Carolina. He also says that they have offered resources from PEMA and the National Guard.
The state’s Helicopter Aquatic Rescue Team is also in the state assisting in recovery efforts, as hundreds remain missing following catastrophic flooding.
At the moment, rescue teams are expected to remain in North Carolina for at least two weeks.
